What else can I do to lower boot/shut down speeds?

Lower boot/down speeds? Further system optimization? any1?

all right, after heavily tweaking my computer, I have lowered my boot time extremely and drastically

my boot time is between 8 and 10 seconds, and my shut down is between 10 and 15 (extra time added on because of webroot's window washer washing through my files for 3 or so seconds)

I've also killed most startup processes that are obsolete to my computer

And I've tweaked the registry to also prevent certain things delaying my boot, and to overall increase system performance

I've disabled any unused ports, etc. to release more IRQ's and put up a raid zero array on 64k

I've changed numerous settinga on my memory to optimize it

I've also disabled or set on manual many services my computer does not use and the question is

what else can I do to lower boot/shut down speeds and raise overall system performance?

(I also set a maintenance routine on my computer to run a broad system of utilities while I am not using my computer to optimize it even further, including defragmentation, etc.)

I also hope other people can use this to optimize their own systems, though I recommend not to toy with the registry, as I have :P
 
Yea optimising services will do the most, sometimes in certain motherboards youi may find a feature called Quickboot or similar, this only does the POST once, and then on skips it to speed up boot times. Look through your BIOS settings to see. If not try updating it.
 
Whats your boot sequence, I think it's faster if you put your hard drive 1st>optical>floppy last?
 
I have it hard drive as first, cd second, and third + fourth are disabled

If I ever have problems and need to boot off a CD, I'll set that to 1st and HD to second
 
Oh yeah, I forgot floppy was dead:P, I still use it in very rare circumstances, it's how I was able to use PhotoShop CS with out registering, they had some weird floppy activation thing.

Yeah I still kept a floppy though because my school doesn't let us read custom burned cds without a password for anti-hacking/virus but my friend plugged in a USB drive and we watched music videos and other things that could have easily held viruses
 
Well the school I got it from didn't have CS2 yet but I'm well on my way to getting CS2:good: CS is just fine but I hate feeling outdated.
