What PSU to get?

Im making a new pc this xmas and just wondering what watt power supply would be adequate for:
Intel conroe core duo 2.4ghz
8800GTX GPU
2GB cosair twinx ram
EVGA NF680i SLI Mbo
400gb hd + 150gb hd
DVD RW

I'd start out with a 600W MINIMUM from the following companies:

-Antec
-Enermax
-OCZ
-PC Power & Cooling
-Seasonic
-Silverstone
-FSP/Fortron/Sparkle
-Tagan

If you're considering SLI, then I'd look at a 750W unit MINIMUM from the aforementioned companies.
 
SLI is running 2 nVidia cards in conjunction with each other to improve graphics performance (i.e. gaming). All but the lowest-tier nVidia cards support SLI. You would be able to purchase a second 8800GTX and run it in SLI with the 8800GTX you have now. SLI requires a pair of the same nVidia-based video cards (from the GeForce 6 series on up) to work.

ATi/AMD has a similar multi-GPU technology call Crossfire which is the same concept for Radeon video cards.

According to them, a Decent 500W psu would be good enough for a single 8800GTX, and a Decent 600W for SLi, i was worried that i would need to upgrade my PSU for even an 8800GTS.

For an 8800GTX wouldent you need an SLi Approved PSU as it uses 2 PCI-E connectors, and for 8800GTX in SLi wouldent you need a Quad Sli Apprived PSU?

I am suspecting with a Decent 500W PSU you might be able to run an 8800GTX, but there wouldent be a great deal of headroom though.

As BigB said, Hiper is a decent choice :D i love my Hiper, infact my next PSU proberbly will be a Hiper too, there brilliant, they look awsome too which is really good as alot of PSU's that Look awsome perform like crap.

Some Raidmax PSU's seem to have good rails, but apparently there still rubbish quality.
 
I dont see why not, this is not the modular version of the Hiper Type-R 780w your getting is it? if it is, i think your gonna have difficulty connecting the power cables as the heatsink would get in the way as the power connectors are now at the bottom whcih is preety stupid tbh.

Ok just looked at the specs, i see its not modular now :D
 
Hiper is a good choice, like FSP (FSP, Sparkle, Fortron PSUs), they're solid units that you can't typically get from other PSU's at those prices.
 
Hiper are fairly new aswell i think, thats why there not as popular, there only just becoming well known.
