Which CPU is better?

I have 2 CPUs I'm not 100% on which one to use.
One is listed as a dual core the other is Intel Pentium D but says has 2 cores? assuming its dual aswell?
Here are both CPUs One being Intel Pentuim D 820 the other Intel Core 2 Duo E4400

I'd go for Core 2 Duo - newer architecture and more features. Don't mind the 800Mhz clocking difference - I don't think it means very much (Pentium D was the last cry of the Intel Pentium CPU tree)
