Hi All,
I've been asked for assistance by a friends dad so I'm sorry for the lack of information which is also 2nd hand.
It would appear that the XP Pro SP2 system refuses to shutdown.
It gets to the point where it has signed out of MSN then stops dead, no HD movment, nothing, at the last count it was 45mins at which point I told them to just pull the plug. I am also told it takes an age to start up
They have scaned the system using Norton 2005 and found 1 Trojan and another that they couldn't give me any info on, These have been Quarintined. They have also run there spyware which came up with a big list. Being an older person I believe that that would probibly be the first scan the PC has seen
I know its an old system, P2 I believe.
I can hopefully give some more information when I see it myself :(
I have done some sufing which only seems to mention slow shutdowns not complete failure to do so.
Any pre-emptive info would help as I've never heard of this 1
Many thanks to anyone who can help.
