Suggestions for a PC gone crazy!

fullt format and fresh install is probably the best method. But I would first of all slave your hard drive in a spare machine and run HD Tune or HD Tache and check the hard drive for read speeds, you should be averaging out around 35-45MB/s but all depends on what disk your using.

Will mobo beep even if cpu is dead?

Hi, It all depends wether your motherboard has an onboard speaker or LED poster. If it does have an onboard speaker and your getting no beep codes generally a sign of a faulty bios chip/motherboard. The bios will give out error codes for the following faults: CPU,Ram, Graphics card, Power supply...

    Medion E1312 ram upgrade?

your correct you have 4 Dimms, but each Dimm will support more than 1GB of ram. judging from the screens you've got 1GB installed in Dimm 0, so basically your system is running in single channel configuration when it is most likely capable of dual channel configuration (twice the bandwidth). I...

New IDE cable is not working?

Hi, your problem is most likely because your using a 40 pin IDE cable instead of an 80 pin IDE cable, alot of IDE devices don't like a 40 pin cable and will cause the device to not be listed as connected to the IDE controller in the bios. So try a 80 pin IDE cable.

    To choose a SSD

Yep single layer cell are what you want but more expensive than multi layer cell. I would still think it's better to go for a pair of western digital raptors in a raid 0. These ssd's are very unreliable and do have alot of issues. But if your still determined to buy an ssd here's a disk...

    USB Port Destroys Devices

Hi, Jewfro is right. When you've extended the bus from the usb header are they just a single block connector or multiple single connectors labled up e.g. +5 (1) + 5 (2) etc? There are two ports per header so basically should go like this: +5 (1) +5 (2) d- (1) d- (2) d+ (1) d+ (2) ground...

    help with PICe 2.0 card

Hi yes it will still work but your PCI-Express x16 controller is 1.0 not 2.0 so it will run at a lower bus frequency of 2GB/S (x8 mode) instead of 4GB/s (x16 mode) so your motherboard is limiting the cards performance.

Sitecom WL344 USB Adapter (wireless N)

Hi all got a problem with the Sitecom wl344 x2 wireless N usb adapter. The adapter connects to the wireless network as it should but it's capable of speeds of 300mbit so in theory should connect about 270mbit, but it only connects at 135mbit, I've tried two different drivers windows seven...
