    Vista Ultimate Vs Home Premium

Apart from home is the one your grandma uses to access her knitting patterns on the internet. MS bribing people, isn't that libelous. MS are a clean not for profit organisation who work hard to keep the computer industry open to all operating system formats.

    Graphics Card suggestions

I don't get yer. Vista is an OS. You don't need Vista to run a GPU card. As for where to get Vista if you should want it, anywhere that sells it. I don't know the comparisons between the individual Vista packages. Home Premium seems to be the best choice. Oh and XP is fine for now...

Require H/W assistance for compaq desktop.

It all depends on what you want to do with the PC you use. If your only using it for browsing the net then it's sufficient. IF however your wanting to play the latest games, video-editing, or such like then you could really do with a whole new set-up starting with a new mobo.

    Building a Computer

Im not at all sure about this PSU. Learning from my own mistakes i will be purchasing a much higher priced PSU in my next build. $45/£25 for a PSU seems a bit cheap. Tagan 500W 2 Force II PSU - Aria Technology As with everything you get what you pay for.

    PSU power ????

400W does seem a little low for running the GPU beast. Though you haven't specified what your actually doing, gaming/browsing/video editing. Depending on what you need the power for depends on what PSU you need.
