    Giving IP's hostnames?

You have a hosts file on windows machines, that stores ip addresses and hostnames, for example something like: 192.168.1.9 laptop1 I believe editing this file on each machine will do this.

    Nero for Linux

There's not much I can't do in k3b. For dvd ripping, I'll probably use DVD::rip, k9copy or dvdshrink on windows.

    Industry to promote PC gaming

I like PC gaming, but when you buy a console game, you don't worry if you'll have to turn down settings to make it playable. It just plays. That said, FPS games are uber-better on PC. The mouse and keyboard will remain the tools of choice for the pros like me...

    Kde4

I agree with you that things should be made easy for the user who doesn't want to use command line. It's just that I would find it a shame if in pursuit of that, the traditional methods were neglected.

Help me rescue my space please!!!!

Create multiple partitions with FAT32. FAT32 has an upper limit on the size of the partitions it can be used on, since it's a very basic and pretty sucky file system. Unfortunately you're stuck with it since PS3/360 only support FAT32.

    Kde4

This was one of the things that annoyed users of KDE3. How Konqueror was a swiss army knife that wasn't really fantastic at file management. The point of Dolphin was to create a file manager, and leave web browsing to Konqueror. This was done, and now some complain about the separation, so the...

    Security passwords?

While I can't categorically say that you aren't under threat, your PC still has a degree of protection even with a wireless network. The first thing to check is that your router is set up with encryption, so that it is very difficult for anyone to connect to your network. While the specifics...

    DVD Ripping [~150 DVD's]

If you're looking for the standard ripped movie size (700mb) then an MPEG 4 Part 2 codec will do, the most popular are xvid and divx. xvid is open source, and also now superior to divx. If you want to have higher quality, even though 700mb xvid movies are fine for normal resolution, then an...

    my new router

Yes, you can daisy chain them. However you asked if you could use them both on the same ADSL line, which would require you to split the ADSL line into 2, one going into each router. That's the part that was being questioned by myself and Impotence.

    One Million F@H PS3 Users

My/my brothers 360 has been fine, it's new though. I've been nursing it since we got it, tucking it into bed and taking it's temperature in the hope that I don't have to deal with MS....

    my new router

I'm not doubting you can connect 2 routers together, just sharing the ADSL line. Still not 100% sure, but it's just something I've never heard of.
