if the program is self contained and doesn't require any .DLL's or registry entries then yes you can run it on multiple versions of Windows[ot]a while ago programs usually had a .INI (containing program settings) file in the same directory as the executable, but nowadays all program settings are stored in the registry[/ot]hope that helpsblade said:Is there a way where you can install a program on multiple OS, instead of having to install that program twice?
Addis he must mean multitle Win OS, because this thread was posted in Win forumAddis said:How do you mean multiple OSs?
no, in theory, if you could centralise the .DLL files and combine the registy, it should be possible (in theory) but if you were to try it Windows would probably start disappering up it's own back side, and thats just with the files having conflicting versions - in short, no, it's not possible[ot]although it would be funny to watch XP & Vista having a monumental battle for supremesy[/ot]blade said:so theres no possible way to install a program for two OS, besides installing it twice in each OS
although, i might try it, should be fun, but then again i'd have to buy Vista :swear:, guess i'll have to just imagine the outcome[ot]you should see in my head now[/ot]blade said:damn; i guess I would have to do double the work
