problem solved bought a zalman copper/aluminum cooler with ramsinks :) I hate stock coolers anyway, so un-leet Now idling at a claimed 51C instead of stock 61C (I believe these to be way off at when idling the stock heatsink was slightly hotter than my CPU heatsink at 45C)

how much money are you looking at spending? also what are your other system specs

I got an Asus 6800XT 300mhz/700mhz 128mb 256-bit ddr ram, 8 pipelines, 4 shaders. Unlocked to 16 pipelines, 6 shaders with rivatuner and it shows up as 6800 ultra still running at 300/700 but with some AS5 and ramsinks that will change...hopefully. Any way to control the cooler fan on...
